The Restaurant Hostess is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring a smooth and welcoming seating experience. She serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays a crucial role in setting the tone for their dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them when leaving.
- Manage table reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists efficiently.
- Escort guests to their assigned tables and present menus.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to manage seating flow and table turnover.
- Answer telephone inquiries regarding reservations, restaurant hours, and menu details.
- Maintain the reception area and entrance in a tidy and professional manner.
- Handle guest complaints or direct them to the appropriate manager.
- Assist with special requests, such as birthday or anniversary arrangements.
- Upsell promotions or special menu items when appropriate.
- Maintain guest records for VIPs and regulars to personalize the experience.
- Follow all safety, hygiene, and grooming standards of the restaurant.
