The Restaurant Captain acts as the team leader on the restaurant floor, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, excellent guest service, and coordination between service staff and the kitchen. The role demands strong leadership, attention to detail, and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide service staff, ensuring company service standards are met.
- Welcome and interact with guests, addressing their needs and resolving complaints promptly.
- Ensure table settings, cleanliness, and restaurant ambiance meet Chaupati’s standards.
- Take and confirm reservations, manage seating arrangements, and coordinate with the host/hostess.
- Assist in taking orders and serving food and beverages during peak hours.
- Train and motivate team members, ensuring proper grooming, etiquette, and service knowledge.
- Monitor daily sales, assist in billing accuracy, and support cash/credit handling procedures.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team for smooth and timely service.
- Maintain stock levels of cutlery, crockery, linen, and other service items.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in F&B service, preferably as a Captain or Senior Steward.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Customer-oriented with problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of food, beverages, and service etiquette.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent preferred.
