The Restaurant Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a welcoming dining experience. Responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and coordinating table assignments, the hostess ensures smooth guest flow and maintains the overall ambiance of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
- Manage table reservations and maintain an accurate waitlist using the reservation system or logbook.
- Ensure the restaurant seating plan is effectively managed to optimize guest satisfaction and table turnover.
- Provide menus, introduce the server, and answer basic guest queries about the restaurant.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the hostess station and entrance area.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, or complaints professionally and promptly.
- Coordinate with servers, restaurant managers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with arranging table settings for special occasions or large groups.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, offering outstanding customer service.
