The Tandoor Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking authentic Indian tandoor dishes, including breads, kebabs, grills, and other traditional items. The role requires expertise in handling the tandoor oven, maintaining consistency in flavors and presentation, and ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook tandoor dishes including naan, roti, kebabs, tikkas, grills, and other Indian breads.
- Marinate and season meats, seafood, and vegetables as per standard recipes.
- Operate and maintain the tandoor oven, ensuring proper temperature control and safety.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of food items.
- Monitor inventory of ingredients related to tandoor and request stock as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the tandoor section at all times.
- Adhere to HACCP and food safety standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development of new tandoor dishes.
- Support the kitchen team during peak operations and ensure timely service.
- Train and guide junior staff working in the tandoor section.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef / Tandoor Cook in a professional kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of Indian breads, kebabs, and tandoor-based cooking techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
- Culinary diploma or equivalent certification preferred.
Work Environment:
- Hot and fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Requires long hours of standing and working near heat.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
