Job Purpose:
The Lead Performance Management is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategies aimed at optimizing the performance, reliability, and efficiency of wind turbines. This role involves defining and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), such as energy yield, turbine availability, and capacity factor, and implementing data-driven approaches to enhance turbine operations. The Lead oversees the analysis of operational data, conducts performance benchmarking, and leads testing and validation of performance enhancement initiatives, including aerodynamic modifications, control system optimizations, and component upgrades. This role also directs site troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve performance anomalies and implements predictive maintenance strategies to prevent failures. The Lead Performance Management collaborates closely with R&D and product improvement teams, ensures compliance with industry standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that align with corporate governance and internal controls.
Performance Strategy Development
- Develop and implement performance management strategies to enhance the operational efficiency and reliability of wind turbines.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for turbine operations, including availability, capacity factor, and energy yield, aligning them with organizational objectives.
Operational Data Analysis and Optimization
- Oversee the analysis of turbine operational data, including power curves, load distributions, and environmental impacts, to identify areas for performance optimization.
- Utilize advanced analytics tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python) to model turbine performance under varying conditions and recommend adjustments to improve output.
Testing and Validation of Performance Enhancements
- Lead the testing and validation of performance improvement initiatives, including aerodynamic optimizations, control system updates, and component upgrades.
- Develop detailed test plans and protocols, coordinating with engineering teams to implement changes and measure their impact on turbine performance.
Site Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis
- Direct site-based performance troubleshooting, addressing issues such as power loss, irregular load distribution, and component degradation.
- Conduct root cause analysis using real-time data, SCADA insights, and diagnostic tools to resolve performance anomalies and implement corrective actions.
Performance Monitoring Systems
- Design and deploy advanced performance monitoring systems, including sensors and data acquisition tools, to continuously track turbine health and operational efficiency.
- Integrate predictive maintenance algorithms and machine learning models to anticipate performance issues and schedule proactive maintenance.
Collaboration with Product Improvement and R&D Teams
- Collaborate closely with product improvement and R&D teams to identify opportunities for enhancing turbine performance through design modifications and technology upgrades.
- Provide performance data and insights to inform the development of new features and components that improve overall turbine efficiency.
Compliance and Standards Management
- Ensure all performance enhancement activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements, including IEC, ISO, and local grid codes.
- Maintain thorough documentation of performance tests, analysis outcomes, and corrective actions for compliance reporting and certification processes.
Corporate Governance and Internal Controls
- Implement internal controls within the performance management function to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with corporate governance policies.
- Ensure adherence to ethical standards in data analysis, performance reporting, and decision-making processes.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on turbine performance, exploring new technologies such as advanced blade designs, smart controls, and energy storage integration.
- Lead cross-functional teams in brainstorming sessions and innovation workshops to generate ideas for performance optimization.
