The ITI Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role requires proficiency in fabrication tools and machines, welding techniques, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams
- Measure, cut, and bend materials such as steel or aluminum using hand tools and machines
- Operate fabrication equipment: cutting machines, grinders, bending machines, and welding machines
- Perform welding (ARC/MIG/TIG) and tack welding as per job requirements
- Fit and assemble components using clamps, jigs, and fixtures
- Ensure proper alignment and finishing of fabricated parts
- Conduct quality checks and ensure adherence to dimensional accuracy
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area
- Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Report material shortages, tool defects, or deviations to the supervisor
Skills & Competencies:
- Technical knowledge of fabrication processes and tools
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Skilled in various welding methods (preferred)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Team player with a positive work attitude
- Physically fit and capable of handling manual labor
