Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Fabrication In-Charge / Supervisor to oversee and manage all fabrication activities at our steel manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in structural fabrication and manufacturing, with excellent skills in planning, labour handling, and production coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage daily operations of the fabrication shop floor.
- Plan and schedule production activities based on project timelines.
- Interpret fabrication drawings and ensure correct execution.
- Coordinate with the design, procurement, and quality teams.
- Allocate tasks to skilled and unskilled labour and monitor performance.
- Ensure optimal use of manpower, materials, and machinery.
- Monitor productivity, wastage, and efficiency parameters.
- Maintain inventory records and raise material requirements timely.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot issues in fabrication processes and offer timely solutions.
- Provide daily and weekly progress reports to management.
- Ensure minimum rework and high-quality output in all fabricated items.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural steel fabrication.
- Proven experience in handling teams of welders, fitters, and helpers.
- Sound knowledge of fabrication drawings, welding processes, and steel grades.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and fabrication blueprints.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with production tracking, BOM, and basic MS Excel.
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in fabrication.
- Should be proactive, disciplined, and result-oriented.
Preferred Qualification:
- Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- Prior experience in medium to large-scale fabrication units preferred.
Salary: Based on experience and industry standardsJoining: Immediate preferred
