Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook tandoori dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Have a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including ingredients, cooking methods, and presentation.
- Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet high-quality standards in taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage.
- Work closely with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen.
- Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels, order supplies, and notify the head chef of any shortages.
- Keep the kitchen area clean and organized, including equipment and workstations.
- May be responsible for training junior kitchen staff members.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge and skills in preparing tandoori dishes and Indian cuisine.
- Ability to follow recipes precisely and ensure consistent quality.
- Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks in a high-paced kitchen environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team, communicating and coordinating with other kitchen staff.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to adapt to changing menus and requirements.
- Capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy pots or trays.
- Ability to contribute to menu development and presentation ideas.
Experience and Education:
- Previous experience as a CDP Chef or in a similar role is preferred.
- Culinary school or relevant training in Indian cuisine is an asset.
