- Provide patient care according to the doctor’s orders and maintain accurate records of patient visits, procedures, and treatments
- Perform internal and arterial blood tests, X-rays, chest x-rays and other diagnostic testing in order to diagnose illnesses or injuries, as well as to determine proper treatment plans
- Talk with patients or their families in order to help them understand their conditions and treatment options
- Provide radiation therapy treatment plans that have been approved by their supervisor or doctor if necessary, while also determining chemotherapy regimens needed to treat diseases
- Recommend radiation therapy and chemotherapy treatment plans, as well as their duration, to the doctor or supervisor for approval
- Provide patient health and wellness information after treatment is over so that patients will know how to take care of themselves or their loved ones if necessary
- Perform arterial blood tests in order to detect problems like heart disease in patients and develop treatment plans accordingly
- Order radiological doses of radiation for patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, while also scheduling in-patient treatments and performing the treatments themselves when needed by medical staff
- Keep up-to-date on all new developments in diagnostic procedures or treatments through continuing education so that they can provide patients with the highest quality of care at all times
- Maintain schedules for all nursing and technical staff, as well as for fluoroscopy and image acquisition equipment.
