- Maintain records and manage licensing and regulatory communication via the eLORA portal.
- Ensure radiation protection practices (shielding, signage, PPE, exposure limits) are in place and enforced.
- Monitor personnel radiation exposure and ensure all occupational dose limits are within safe thresholds.
- Conduct radiation safety training for staff, including ALARA principles.
2. Quality Assurance – Diagnostic X-ray Equipment (DXE):
- Implement and maintain a structured QA Program for all DXE, including CR, DR, CT, Mobile X-rays, and C-arms.
- Perform acceptance testing, periodic QA, and calibration verification of X-ray machines.
- Ensure compliance with AERB’s “Safety Code for Medical Diagnostic X-ray Equipment and Installations.”
- Record and maintain QA test reports such as:
- kVp accuracy and reproducibility
- Timer accuracy
- Radiation output linearity and reproducibility
- HVL measurement
- Image quality checks
- Leakage and scatter radiation measurements
- Coordinate with service engineers for corrective actions and documentation of service records.
3. Incident Management & Reporting:
- Investigate any radiation exposure incidents or QA failures and initiate corrective measures.
- Submit periodic compliance and QA reports to the management and AERB as required.
4. Equipment & Area Audits:
