Pipe Fitter

Job Summary:

The Pipe Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in power plants, steel plants, sugar mills, and industrial facilities. The role requires proficiency in reading and interpreting piping drawings, cutting and fitting pipes, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation & Fabrication:
• Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for pipe installations.
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
• Assemble and install pipes, valves, and fittings for systems such as water, steam, gas, or process lines.
• Maintenance & Repair:
• Inspect piping systems for leaks, blockages, corrosion, and damages.
• Perform maintenance and replace worn-out or damaged sections.
• Conduct pressure tests to ensure system integrity.
• Safety & Compliance:
• Follow all company and industry safety standards and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with quality and welding standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Coordination & Documentation:
• Work with engineers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure project timelines are met.
• Maintain records of installations, repairs, and materials used.
• Provide regular updates to supervisors on project progress.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
• Skilled in pipe cutting, threading, welding, and assembly.
• Knowledge of materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, etc.) and piping standards.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools used in pipe fitting.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in various industrial environments.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: ITI / Diploma in Pipe Fitting or relevant technical field.
• Experience: 3–8 years in industrial plant, construction, or maintenance projects.
• Certifications (Preferred): Welding certifications, safety training, or relevant trade licenses.

Working Conditions:

• On-site role, may involve exposure to heat, confined spaces, and high-pressure systems.
• May require overtime or shift work depending on project needs.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
