Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment used in steel manufacturing (motors, panels, lighting, control systems).
- Install, test, and commission LT/HT electrical systems and power distribution panels.
- Troubleshoot and repair faults in industrial machines, motors (AC/DC), VFDs, and control circuits.
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts.
- Ensure electrical safety standards and plant compliance with internal and government regulations.
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime.
- Document maintenance logs and prepare reports for electrical inspections.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (3-phase, transformers, MCC panels, etc.)
- Experience with plant automation systems, VFDs, and motor controls
- Basic understanding of PLC/SCADA (even better if certified)
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules and safety protocols
- Ability to work under pressure and during breakdowns or shutdowns
Certifications (Preferred)
- Electrical Supervisor License (state board)
- PLC / SCADA Basics (optional but valuable)
- Industrial Safety Certificate
