Job Title: Delivery Driver – Water Can Distribution
Location: Koyambedu, OMR, Ponmar.
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monthly Basis / Outsourced)
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle Operation:
- Drive and operate assigned vehicles such as Eicher, Bolero, Tata Ace, and Ape.
- Ensure safe and timely delivery of 20-liter water cans to customers (residential, B2B, apartments, shops, etc.).
- Adhere to assigned delivery routes and schedules.
- Loading & Unloading:
- Assist in loading water cans at the godown and unloading them at customer locations.
- Coordinate with loaders if available; ensure safe handling of cans to avoid spillage/damage.
- Customer Handling:
- Maintain polite and professional interaction with customers.
- Obtain customer confirmation/signature or digital scan upon successful delivery.
- Escalate any delivery issues (wrong address, customer complaints, etc.) to the supervisor.
- Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:
- Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle checks (fuel, brakes, tire pressure, coolant, etc.).
- Report any vehicle malfunctions immediately.
- Ensure regular cleaning and servicing of the vehicle.
- Documentation:
- Maintain delivery logs, trip sheets, and fuel records.
- Submit daily delivery reports and attendance to the supervisor.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Minimum 8th standard pass.
- Valid driving license for the respective vehicle type (LMV/Commercial/3-wheeler).
- Minimum 2–5 years of driving experience with commercial vehicles.
- Familiar with Chennai routes and local traffic regulations.
- Physically fit to load/unload 20L water cans (each ~20kg).
Skills Required:
- Basic route and map reading skills.
- Good driving discipline and road safety knowledge.
- Punctual, reliable, and hardworking.
- Ability to work under heat and physical strain.
Work Timings:
- Typically 6 days/week; 1 weekly off (rotational).
- Morning shift start around 6:00 AM – until delivery completion.
Salary & Benefits:
- Monthly Salary: ₹20,000 to ₹26,000 (depending on vehicle type and shift).
- Overtime (if any) paid as per company policy.
- PF/ESI applicable
