Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy vehicles, including trucks, Bus, or other large transport vehicles, safely and responsibly.
- Inspect vehicles daily to ensure they are in safe operating condition; report any issues or maintenance needs.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while adhering to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
- Load and unload goods or materials as required, ensuring secure placement to avoid damage or shifting during transport.
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours, deliveries, mileage, and vehicle service or maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members regarding routes, schedules, or delays.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as fueling, oil changes, or tire inspections.
- Provide exceptional customer service during pickups and deliveries by maintaining a professional demeanor and assisting clients when necessary.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to heavy vehicle operation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid heavy vehicle driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating heavy vehicles, preferably with experience in [specify industry if relevant, e.g., logistics, construction].
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and transportation laws.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safe driving practices.
- Physical fitness to load/unload heavy goods as required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is preferred for handling minor vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily on the road, with long hours of driving, often in varying weather conditions.
- Occasional lifting or loading/unloading of heavy items.
- May require extended hours, weekend shifts, or overnight routes depending on delivery schedules.
