About the Role
Studio Underground is a dynamic production house creating ad films, documentaries, and digital content. We are seeking a dedicated and technically sound Assistant Cinematographer to support our Director of Photography (DOP) in executing the visual style and technical aspects of our shoots.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the DOP in setting up and operating camera equipment.
- Help with lens changes, focus pulling, rigging, and camera movements.
- Coordinate with the lighting and grip teams to execute the visual plan.
- Ensure all camera and support gear is maintained and handled properly.
- Manage data wrangling and media backups on set (if required).
- Assist with shot continuity, framing, and on-set monitoring.
- Stay alert to troubleshoot any technical issues with camera gear.
- Maintain a smooth workflow between departments during shoots.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of professional camera systems (Canon, Sony, Blackmagic, RED, etc.).
- Understanding of camera operations, lenses, and support equipment.
- Ability to work long hours and adapt to fast-paced shooting environments.
- Strong team player with good communication and organizational skills.
- Eagerness to learn and take feedback positively.
- Willingness to travel and work on-location shoots.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using gimbals, sliders, and other camera support tools.
- Familiarity with lighting equipment and on-set protocols.
- Knowledge of file formats, codecs, and basic post-production workflows.
- Passion for visual storytelling and cinematography.
