Applied R&D Engineer conducts goal-driven, multidisciplinary research and development to solve specific technical challenges or enhance systems, hardware, and software solutions. Specializes in software architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance, translating system-level requirements into functional software components. Provides techno-economic consulting, supports software configuration management, and drives incremental improvements through systematic application of engineering practices and tools.
- Design, implement, and optimize Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline software delivery.
- Drive automation initiatives using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
- Manage and integrate Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools such as Git for version control and collaboration.
- Utilize and integrate build tools like Gradle and Maven into CI/CD workflows to support automated builds and dependency management.
- Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Evaluate, propose, and execute Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for emerging tools, frameworks, and DevOps best practices.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve DevOps processes to ensure high system availability and performance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth end-to-end software delivery.
You have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 6–10 years of hands-on experience in DevOps and automation.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enhance software delivery efficiency.
- Drive automation through scripting to reduce manual tasks and improve development workflows.Manage and integrate SCM tools like Git, and work with build tools such as Gradle and Maven within CI/CD processes.
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption and evaluate PoCs for new tools and DevOps practices.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Practical experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Argo CD.
- Strong scripting knowledge on Bash, Python or Groovy.
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestrations like Kubernetes.
- Experience working on cloud platforms like GCP or AWS, including deployment, monitoring, and automation.
