Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Data Entry Operator – Accounts to support our finance team. The candidate will be responsible for entering, updating, and maintaining accurate financial data in accounting software and spreadsheets. The role demands accuracy, speed, and basic accounting knowledge to ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and update accounting data in software, databases, and financial spreadsheets.
- Maintain accurate records of daily financial transactions (invoices, receipts, vouchers, payments).
- Verify data for accuracy and correct errors promptly.
- Assist in preparation of reports such as balance sheets, ledgers, and financial statements.
- Reconcile data with physical documents and accounting entries.
- Support accounts team with routine administrative and clerical tasks.
- Handle filing and document management (digital and physical).
- Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of financial information.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong typing speed with accuracy in data entry.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and spreadsheets.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in data entry or accounting support preferred (freshers with good skills may also apply).
