Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities :
Design and Development of Low voltage electrical motors with a strong focus on resolving quality issues and leading cost reduction initiatives through engineering design excellence. The role involves support in the following areas.
1. Design and development of components specially on low volage Electrical motors.
2. Activities include identifying root causes of field issues and providing robust, long-term design solutions and analyzing existing designs and propose cost-effective alternatives without compromising functionality or performance.
3. Close coordination with stake holders like Manufacturing, QMM & Suppliers.
Required Skills:
Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, preferably low voltage electrical motors.
Hands on experience in component design and development cycle.
Experience in root cause analysis and solving field quality issues through design interventions.
Hands on experience in Value Engineering and Design-to-Cost methods.
Manufacturing knowhow on machined parts, pressure die casting & stamping.
Exposure to reliability concepts.
Hands on experience in FMEA & DRBFM (Preferably L2 certified).
Experience in performing comprehensive DFX (DFA, DFM & DFC) analysis to eliminate complexities and inefficiencies of design.
Good Exposure to BES/PE principles.
Good Knowledge in GD&T and tolerance stack up calculation.
Expertise in creating CAD designs using NX and Teamcenter.
Preparation of Engineering documents (Drawing) as per design standards & guidelines.
Creation, updating and maintaining of engineering BOM in SAP.
Pro-Active, quick learning and capable of handling tasks independently.
Good problem solving & analytical capabilities, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Optional skills:
Experience working on Engineering Change Management Processes.
Familiarity with design validation using simulation tools.
Good understanding of EMAG.
Experience in PPAP documentation and working with APQP frameworks
