Key Responsibilities:
- Install, align, and maintain machinery used in rolling mill operations (e.g., rollers, gearboxes, conveyors, couplings).
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical components.
- Perform equipment inspections to detect faults and recommend necessary repairs.
- Overhaul worn-out or damaged machine parts.
- Ensure proper lubrication and functioning of rotating equipment.
- Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities and repair records.
- Follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE during all maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with the electrical and production teams to minimize equipment downtime.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Assist in commissioning and testing of new machinery or upgrades.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance workshop and tools.
Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma in Fitter / Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- 2–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a rolling mill or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documents.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in hot and noisy environments.
