Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on all electrical systems, including lighting (interior and exterior), power circuits, control systems for kitchen equipment, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and any emergency lighting.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in equipment and the building, performing necessary repairs promptly.
- Install new electrical wiring, fixtures, outlets, switches, and equipment as needed, adhering to safety standards and electrical codes. This may include wiring for new kitchen appliances, lighting installations, or POS terminals.
- Respond to staff requests regarding electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Repair or replace defective electrical components, such as wiring, fuses, circuit breakers, motors in ventilation systems or refrigeration units, and lighting fixtures.
- Conduct regular testing of electrical systems to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local electrical codes, regulations, and restaurant standards.
- Identify and report any potential electrical hazards or safety concerns.
- Assist other maintenance personnel with related tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Stay updated on new electrical technologies and best practices relevant to commercial kitchens and dining areas.
- Participate in training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid electrician's license or certification as per local regulations is highly preferred.
- Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in a restaurant, commercial kitchen, or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques, including experience with commercial kitchen equipment.
- Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using various electrical tools and testing equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance needs if required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to a certain weight (e.g., tools, equipment).
- Manual dexterity to handle tools and wiring.
