Responsibilities
- Create and revise drawings:Develop detailed architectural and engineering plans for construction projects, such as buildings, bridges, and roads, using CAD software.
- Collaborate with professionals:Work closely with architects, engineers, and surveyors to understand project requirements and translate design concepts into precise technical drawings.
- Ensure compliance:Verify that all plans and drawings adhere to relevant industry standards, building codes, and project specifications.
- Manage documentation:Maintain accurate records of drawings and related documentation, updating them as needed to reflect project changes.
- Conduct site visits:Visit construction sites to gather data, verify measurements, and ensure that optimized plans align with real-world conditions.
- Assist with project tasks:Help prepare project proposals, technical documents, cost estimates, and schedules, providing support to project managers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- CAD Proficiency:Expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D, for creating and modifying drawings.
- Technical Knowledge:A strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and relevant codes and regulations.
- Attention to Detail:A keen eye for detail and accuracy to ensure the precision of technical drawings.
- Communication Skills:Ability to effectively communicate with engineers, architects, and other team members to clarify project requirements and provide support.
- Problem-Solving:Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during the design and drafting process.
- Adaptability:Flexibility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing project scopes.
- Education:An associate degree or certification in drafting or a related field is often preferred.
