Overview:
The Senior ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform to meet business requirements. This role ensures delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions across various ServiceNow modules, and provides technical leadership, guidance, and support to development teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Design & Development
- Design and develop ServiceNow solutions including applications, integrations, workflows, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, and automated processes.
- Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and build solutions aligned with platform best practices.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior developers, reviewing code for quality, standards adherence, and performance optimization.
- Recommend and implement ServiceNow configuration vs. customization approaches to meet business needs efficiently.
Module Implementation & Enhancements
- Lead development activities for new module implementations, upgrades, and major enhancements.
- Build integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, and MID Servers as needed.
Testing & Deployment
- Develop and execute unit tests; support QA and UAT cycles by resolving defects in a timely manner.
- Participate in code promotions and deployments across environments ensuring minimal impact to operations.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Prepare and maintain technical design documents, configuration guides, and support documentation.
- Share knowledge with team members and contribute to the ServiceNow development standards library.
Continuous Improvement & Support
- Identify and implement opportunities for platform optimization and automation.
- Provide advanced technical support for incidents, root cause analysis, and resolution for complex issues escalated by sustain teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of ServiceNow development experience.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator is required.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or module-specific certifications (e.g. ITSM, ITOM) are highly desirable.
