Job Title: Welding Instructor (CO2/MIG/TIG)

Job Summary:
We seek an experienced Welder with expertise in CO2, MIG, and TIG welding techniques to train and mentor students at our skill development institute. The ideal candidate will combine industry experience with teaching skills to prepare learners for certification and employment in welding trades.
Key Responsibilities:1. Training & Practical Instruction:
- Conduct hands-on welding training sessions in CO2, MIG, and TIG welding processes.
- Teach students to interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and material specifications.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for joint preparation, electrode selection, and parameter setting (amps, gas flow).
- Supervise live welding projects (e.g., pipe welding, structural joints).
2. Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols (PPE, fume extraction, fire prevention).
- Train students in hazard identification and workplace safety standards (OSHA/ISO norms).
3. Machine Maintenance & Setup:
- Operate and maintain welding equipment (power sources, torches, gas regulators).
- Troubleshoot common welding defects (porosity, cracks, spatter) and corrective measures.
4. Curriculum Development:
- Assist in designing NSQF-aligned course modules for welding certification programs.
- Integrate industry trends (e.g., automation, robotic welding basics).
5. Assessment & Certification Support:
- Evaluate student welds through visual inspection, bend tests, and NDT basics.
- Prepare trainees for AWS/IS certification exams.
Requirements:
- Education: ITI/Diploma in Welding Technology or equivalent.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in CO2, MIG, and TIG welding.
- Prior teaching/training experience (preferred but not mandatory).
- Certifications: AWS/ASME certification is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Mastery of welding techniques across materials (mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum).
- Knowledge of welding codes and standards.
- Soft Skills:
- Ability to mentor students from diverse backgrounds.
- Patience and strong communication skills.
