FOE News (Facts Over Everything) is an independent digital news platform committed to delivering unbiased, research-driven, and impactful journalism. We challenge narratives, break down complex issues, and bring facts to the forefront. We are now expanding our editorial and production team to strengthen our visual storytelling.
The Role
We are seeking a talented Video Editor who can transform raw footage, interviews, and reports into sharp, engaging, and credible news content. The ideal candidate should have a passion for storytelling, an eye for detail, and the ability to maintain editorial integrity while creating visually compelling videos for multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit raw footage into polished news reports, documentaries, and explainer videos.
- Add voiceovers, captions, graphics, and fact-check visuals to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with reporters, writers, and producers to maintain FOE’s editorial tone.
- Ensure content is optimized for multiple platforms (YouTube, social media, web).
- Maintain high editorial standards — fact-based, professional, and visually engaging.
- Work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a video editor (news, media, or documentary preferred).
- Strong command of editing tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve).
- Understanding of journalistic ethics, fact-checking, and responsible editing.
- Ability to create news graphics, lower thirds, and engaging visual effects.
- Strong sense of pacing, narrative flow, and audience engagement.
- Knowledge of optimizing video for different formats (short-form reels, long-form reports, social media).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with editorial teams.
Nice to Have
- Background in journalism, political analysis, or documentary editing.
- Motion graphics/animation skills.
- Experience in covering breaking news and fast-paced reporting.
