Job Purpose :
To ensure the smooth functioning of the tool room by overseeing the manufacturing, maintenance, and management of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures essential for production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate tool manufacturing, modifications, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure timely availability of tools and dies to the production line to avoid downtime.
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance of tooling to ensure long tool life and consistent performance.
- Operate and monitor conventional and CNC machines (e.g., milling, grinding, EDM, wire-cut) as needed.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings and tool designs.
- Coordinate with the design team for modifications, improvements, or development of new tools.
- Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables in the tool room.
- Maintain documentation as per ISO/IATF 16949 standards, including tool history cards and maintenance logs.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized tool room.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for tool-related failures and implement corrective actions.
- Train and supervise toolmakers or junior tool room staff.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of tool & die making and tool maintenance.
- Proficiency in machine shop operations (lathe, milling, grinding, etc.).
- Understanding of CAD drawings and basic CAM operations.
- Knowledge of tolerance, fits, material hardness, and tool steels.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and team coordination abilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma / Degree in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 1–6 years of experience in a tool room or tool maintenance role, preferably in an automotive or engineering company.

Pay: ₹20,236.38 - ₹40,596.00 per month
