We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the review and evaluation of online course content with a focus on negotiation-related topics. The ideal candidate will bring subject expertise, critical thinking, and a learner-centered mindset to ensure the quality and relevance of course materials.
Scope of work:
As the Subject Matter Expert, you will:
- Course Recommendation & Alignment:
- Recommend negotiation-related micro-courses aligned with current industry needs and emerging workplace trends.
- Ensure the overall learning pathway reflects practical, role-based applications of negotiation in corporate settings.
- Program and Course Outline Review:
- Review and refine the program structure, course sequencing, and learning objectives for clarity, progression, and relevance.
- Validate alignment of topic coverage with workplace negotiation challenges and opportunities.
- Content Review & Enhancement:
- Evaluate all content for accuracy, consistency, and instructional value; suggest enhancements through practical examples, caselets, or scenario-based elements.
- Identify content gaps, recommend improvements to assessments, and provide constructive feedback to the instructional design team.
- Reference Material Support:
- Share curated reference materials, such as OERs, articles, blogs, and frameworks, that support content creation and ensure authenticity.
- Recommend sources that reflect both foundational and current negotiation practices across industries.
- Industry & Client Relevance:
- Ensure content aligns with workplace performance expectations and supports applicable negotiation skills such as preparation, influence, and agreement-building.
- Confirm that course outcomes meet both internal quality standards and client-specific goals.
- Content Maintenance:
- Recommend periodic updates based on learner feedback, evolving negotiation practices, or partner input to maintain relevance and impact.
- Support version tracking and content refreshes as needed to ensure alignment with real-world negotiation contexts.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with instructional designers, writers, and project managers to co-develop high-quality, learner-focused content.
- Participate in review cycles, provide timely input, and ensure alignment between SME guidance and final deliverables.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Law, Communication, or a closely related field with relevance to negotiation and interpersonal influence.
Professional Experience:
- 8–10 years of professional experience in roles requiring structured negotiation, such as: Business development, sales, procurement, labor relations, contract management, or legal practice.
- Proven ability to navigate complex negotiations with multiple stakeholders.
- Practical experience with negotiation tools, metrics, or structured frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring, training, or coaching professionals in communication or negotiation skills is a strong advantage.
Additional Requirements:
- Exposure to instructional design processes and content development in digital learning environments.
- Exceptional clarity in written communication and ability to distill complex ideas into simple, actionable concepts.
Preferred skills:

- Anchoring and framing strategies
- Ability to connect theory with workplace relevance across sectors (e.g., tech, healthcare, logistics, education).
- Strong skills in scenario writing, case study creation, and workplace simulation design.
