We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in nursing principles, with specialized experience or a keen interest in Operation Theatre (OT) procedures, Orthopedic patient care, and providing comprehensive general patient care. Key Responsibilities Operation Theatre (OT) Responsibilities: * Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment. * Prepare the operating room, including setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes. * Perform pre-operative patient assessments and prepare patients for surgery. * Monitor vital signs and patient condition throughout the surgical procedure. * Manage and account for all instruments, sponges, and sharps during and after surgery. * Ensure proper handling and labeling of specimens. * Assist with post-operative patient transfer and recovery. * Maintain accurate and detailed OT records. Orthopedic Patient Care Responsibilities: * Provide specialized nursing care to patients with orthopedic conditions, including fractures, joint replacements, spinal injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders. * Assist with the application and removal of casts, splints, and traction. * Monitor and manage post-operative orthopedic patients, including pain management, wound care, and early mobilization. * Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, rehabilitation exercises, and assistive devices. * Assess for potential complications such as DVT, infection, and neurovascular compromise. * Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. General Patient Care Responsibilities: * Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social needs. * Administer medications safely and accurately, observing for adverse reactions. * Perform wound care, dressing changes, and other nursing procedures. * Monitor and record vital signs, intake, and output, and report significant changes to the medical team. * Provide personal care assistance (bathing, feeding, ambulation) as needed. * Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation. * Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive measures. * Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions. * Ensure a clean, safe, and organized patient environment. * Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and infection control protocols. Qualifications * Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) or General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Diploma from an accredited institution. * Registration: Valid and current nursing license/registration with the State Nursing Council. * Experience: * Minimum of [X] years of experience as a Staff Nurse, with demonstrated experience in an Operation Theatre and/or Orthopedic unit preferred.
