Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer with a strong background in Microsoft technologies, particularly .NET and C#, to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and maintaining high-quality desktop applications using technologies such as WPF, Windows Forms, and Windows Services. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting software solutions that meet business and technical requirements, with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and reliability.
Global Payments Internal Background: The Global Payments Deployed Apps team currently supports the following applications and services:
XCharge: Windows desktop middleware payment processing application supporting integrations from a large number of partner applications. The application supports a full UI, credit, debit, EBT, check, and gift transaction types, and reporting. XCharge is written in C# and C++, with new features written in C#.
RCM/EdgeExpress: Windows desktop service supporting integrations from a large number of partner desktop and web applications facilitating EMV transaction processing using Ingenico payment terminals. RCM is written in C#.
EasyUpdater: Software updating service for pushing software updates to merchants. Written in C# with backend AWS services.
Mobile iOS/Android SDKs: Mobile SDK libraries providing EMV transaction processing to partner mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain software products, modules, and features using .NET C# (WPF, Windows Forms, Windows Services, etc.).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on agile projects to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and robustness.
Develop and maintain automated test cases.
Support and enhance existing InstallShield-based installation packages.
Apply object-oriented design principles to create professional-grade software.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues in a timely manner.
Document software components, processes, and installation guides with clear and concise technical writing.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Integrate applications with internal systems and enterprise services.
Use tools such as Jira, Bitbucket/GitHub, and Bamboo for task management, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Professional software development experience using C# and .NET Framework.
Strong experience with Visual Studio and Microsoft Windows development.
Proficiency in Windows Desktop Application development (WPF, WinForms).
Good problem-solving, research, and analytical skills.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
Experience working in agile/Scrum environments.
Familiarity with unit testing frameworks and test-driven development (TDD).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including basic technical documentation.
Preferred:
Experience with C++ in a Windows environment.
Basic experience with Java and Swift mobile development
Background in the payment industry.
Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket), Bamboo CI/CD, or GitHub.
Experience creating and maintaining InstallShield installation packages.
Integration experience with service-oriented applications or enterprise systems.
Knowledge of secure coding practices and industry standards, with a focus on protecting sensitive data and preventing common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10, PCI, etc.)
