Role Overview: 

As a Development Lead within the Research and Developement IT Team at our organization, you will enable capabilities that help scientists operate and execute experiments utilizing their day-to-day operational and transactional solutions that facilitate the research process. 

What will you do in this role: 

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects to identify and suggest enhancements to existing applications, contributing to improved performance and reduced technical debt.

• Work with cross-functional teams to support the integration of science and technology, assisting in the creation of user-friendly products that provide significant business value to our researchers.

• Assist in the design and implementation of cloud-based systems while adhering to established technology governance and compliance standards.

• Monitor application performance metrics and help make necessary adjustments to improve system availability and performance.

• Support the development and improvement of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to expedite development cycles and ensure consistent software releases

• Collaborate with technical teams to assist in system integrations, help configure SaaS solutions, support the modernization of legacy applications, and produce necessary technical documentation such as architecture diagrams.

• Be open to occasional international travel as product demands arise.

 What Should you have: 

• 7+ years of experience in IT with ability to architect, engineer, optimize and maintain software solutions to solve complex scientific problems.

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline (such as computer science, engineering, biology, chemistry, etc.). Pharmaceutical experience preferred but not mandatory.

• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with cloud platforms is a plus.

• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, CI/CD practices, and Agile methodologies.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.

• Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

• Experience working across Research Discovery, Pre-Clinical and/or Clinical Business areas.

• Experience with Entity Registration and Inventory & Sample Management capabilities.

• Understanding of Laboratory Application and Vendor Landscape.

• Experience with platforms such as Power BI, Power Platform or DataBricks.

• Familiarity with the latest AI technologies and services such as Azure, OpenAI
