Job Description – QC Executive
Position Overview:
The QC Executive will lead the Quality Control function at the factory and warehouse. He will be responsible for ensuring that all seafood products meet company quality, hygiene, safety, and packing/packaging standards. This role includes supervising workers during cutting/cleaning, monitoring yields, checking product freshness, maintaining proper hygiene in the facility, and directly ensuring that packing and packaging are done as per company standards. The QC Executive will act as the authority for all quality-related checks and report directly to the Operations Head.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Overall QC Leadership
a. Head the Quality Control function for the factory and warehouse.
b. Be the final authority for product quality clearance before dispatch.
2. Factory & Warehouse Hygiene
a. Monitor daily cleaning activities and ensure proper sanitation across the facility.
b. Enforce hygiene rules (PPE use, sanitization, handling standards).
3. Product Quality, Yield & Packaging
a. Inspect incoming seafood for freshness, grading, and quality.
b. Check quantity and verify yield after cutting to ensure maximum flesh recovery.
c. Ensure proper storage conditions (temperature, handling).
d. Personally ensure that packing and packaging standards are strictly followed (sealing, labeling, portioning, weight accuracy, presentation, and safety compliance).
4. Team Supervision & Training
a. Oversee and guide cutting/cleaning staff to maintain quality standards.
b. Train workers in hygiene, handling, and packaging practices.
5. Documentation & Reporting
a. Maintain QC records (quality checklists, cleaning logs, yield reports, packaging QC reports).
b. Report daily findings, issues, and suggestions directly to the Operations Head.
6. Problem Solving & Corrective Actions
a. Identify non-compliance or defects and ensure corrective action is taken immediately.
b. Coordinate with Operations Head and Procurement for resolving quality-related issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Diploma/Degree in Food Technology, Fisheries, or related field (preferred).
Experience: 6 months to 1 year in seafood/meat processing, food handling, or QC (apprenticeship/internship also valid).
Skills: Strong observation skills, attention to detail, ability to ensure packing standards, and leadership qualities to monitor a small team.
