Role Overview:
Responsible for executing procurement operations in alignment with Indorama India's strategic goals and Haldia plant requirements. This role ensures timely supply of quality materials/services while optimizing costs and maintaining compliance with corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and process purchase orders consistent with company policies and delegated authority.
- Communicate order details to suppliers, obtain confirmations, manage delivery timelines, and ensure accuracy of documentation.
- Manage amendments (e.g., price, delivery dates, incoterms) with appropriate approvals.
- Maintain real-time order status updates in SAP or equivalent systems.
- Generate periodic reports (e.g., weekly open-order summaries) and coordinate with relevant teams.
- Facilitate status meetings to address risks, resolve issues, and follow up on action points.
- Maintain vendor master data in procurement systems (creation, updates, verification).
- Conduct vendor evaluations, support negotiations, and coordinate pricing and terms.
- Regularly review open purchase orders; ensure closures, follow-ups, and compliance.
- Handle half-yearly reviews of outstanding POs in coordination with finance and procurement teams.
- Ensure procured materials/services meet quality and specification standards of the Haldia plant.
- Collaborate with finance to manage procurement budgets; identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain alignment with regulatory, safety, and internal compliance requirements.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Stores, and Quality teams to understand requirements and ensure seamless procurement.
- Ensure accurate documentation—POs, confirmations, invoices, delivery notes—for auditing and traceability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (e.g., B.Com, BBA, or Engineering preferred).
- Experience: 2–4 years in procurement or supply chain management, ideally in manufacturing or heavy industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SAP MM module preferred, along with strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel).
- Soft Skills: Excellent coordination, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Process Acumen: Understanding of end-to-end procurement (Procure-to-Pay cycle) and vendor management.
Reporting & Stakeholder Interface:
Reporting To: Purchase Manager or Procurement Lead (depending on structure).
Liaises With:
- Internal: Maintenance, Stores/Warehouse, Production, Quality, Finance.
- External: Suppliers, Logistics Service Providers, Vendors.
Work Environment & Context:
You’d be based at the Haldia fertiliser plant—a significant production hub for DAP, NPK, SSP, and related chemical inputs . Operations are supported by a strong safety and compliance framework, reflecting Indorama’s sustainability and environmental standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹20,371.56 - ₹40,566.29 per month
