- Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients admitted to the hospital to determine their physical status, functional abilities, and specific needs.
- Performing evaluations using standardized tests and measurements to establish baseline data for treatment planning.
- Developing individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses, in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
- Implementing treatment interventions aimed at promoting recovery, restoring mobility, and preventing complications related to immobility or surgery.
- Utilizing a variety of techniques such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, balance training, and respiratory therapy as appropriate.
- Addressing acute and chronic pain through physical therapy interventions, including therapeutic modalities, manual techniques, and patient education on pain management strategies.
- Monitoring pain levels and adjusting treatments to ensure optimal pain relief and functional improvement.
- Providing respiratory physiotherapy interventions for patients with respiratory conditions, including chest physiotherapy, breathing exercises, and techniques to improve lung function and clearance.
- Promoting early mobilization and rehabilitation to prevent deconditioning and complications associated with prolonged hospitalization.
- Assisting patients in regaining strength, endurance, and independence in activities of daily living through progressive exercise programs and functional training.
- Providing pre-operative and post-operative physiotherapy care for orthopedic and surgical patients to optimize outcomes, minimize complications, and facilitate recovery.
- Implementing specialized rehabilitation protocols tailored to specific surgical procedures or orthopedic conditions.
- Supporting patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, or brain injury through targeted rehabilitation interventions to improve motor function, balance, and mobility.
- Facilitating neurorehabilitation programs aimed at enhancing neurological recovery and maximizing functional independence.
- Educating patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and strategies for self-management.
- Providing instruction on home exercise programs and adaptive techniques to promote continuity of care and ongoing progress after discharge.
- Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
- Participating in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and care planning meetings to discuss patient progress and goals.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Providing clear and concise reports to healthcare team members, including updates on patient progress, functional outcomes, and recommendations for continued care.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice to enhance the delivery of physiotherapy services and improve patient outcomes.
