Job Description: Payroll Analyst II
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Payroll Analyst & Implementation Specialist to join our global payroll team, to manage end-to-end payroll operations for our India entity. The role will ensure timely, accurate and compliant payroll processing, statutory reporting, and employee support. In addition, the ideal candidate will have strong experience with system implementation (Workday & Cloud Pay, Ceridian, ADP, PECI), audit and compliance procedures. This role requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong systems knowledge, and a collaborative approach to managing cross-functional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll System Implementation:
- Participate in the implementation and integration of CloudPay for India payroll in coordination with global and local teams.
- Gather requirements, validate system configuration and ensure compliance with statutory rules and company policies.
- Perform UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and reconcile payroll outputs during parallel runs.
- Document payroll processes, workflows, and control checkpoints in the new system.
- Familiar with Mynd solutions ESS employee portal, proof declarations and compliances.
- Participate during setup and testing phases.
- Support configuration and data mapping between Workday and Payroll platforms, Cloud pay and Mynd solution
- Support the historical data transfer from current employee portal and vendor data base Excility/Ceridian to Mynd solution.
- Knowledgeable of CTC bands, allowances and PF calculations.
- Support the Global Payroll Manager during the implementation and all other ongoing payroll requirements.
- Assist with data mapping of payroll journal, mapping the cost centres and being able to help with testing during the implementation phase.
Payroll Processing:

- Supporting the Payroll Analyst with employee’s tax inquiries and helping them navigate the ESS portal.
- Assist in all monthly payroll activities to ensure that you can successfully process end-to-end payroll.
- Share the responsibility of helping employees during the proof filings season to ensure that employees understand the tax elements, tax regime and the importance of claiming the proofs correctly and on time
- Work with HR, Finance and External payroll vendors to ensure accurate input data (new hires, exits, PTO, leave, bonuses, variable pay, benefits, reimbursements etc.)
- Ability to validate salary calculations, statutory deductions (PF, Gratuity, Income Tax/ TDS etc.) and final settlement payouts.
- Perform data validation and ensure accuracy of payroll input/output files and related financial reporting.
- Analyse payroll variances and trends to support financial and operational decision-making.
- Support the payroll analyst during the year end season and support the audits (Internal, Statutory, Tax and Compliance)
- Serve as primary payroll back up for India.
Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure smooth payroll processing and resolution of issues.
- Support the Senior Global Manager in various initiatives and policy updates to ensure HR/Payroll staff and end users are well-informed and effectively trained in new system functionalities and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in payroll processing or payroll data analytics, preferably with India payroll.
- Strong knowledge of India payroll laws, compliance requirements, and statutory deductions.
- Proven experience with Workday HCM and CloudPay or other global payroll platforms.
- Hands-on experience with payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and financial systems integration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs; SQL knowledge is a plus.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, with ability to liaise between technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a global payroll environment, particularly across multiple regions.
- Familiarity with system implementation projects and payroll transitions.
- Knowledge of other payroll systems or APIs is a bonus.
