Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder/Fabricator to join our metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating gates and shutters as per provided designs and technical drawings. The role involves cutting, welding, assembling, and testing mild steel and other materials for structural integrity and finish quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and gate design specifications.
- Cut metal components using grinders, cutters, and other tools as required.
- Perform MIG/ARC welding and assemble complete gates or shutters with accuracy.
- Ensure correct alignment, measurement, and welding techniques for structural strength.
- Conduct visual and manual inspection for welding quality and finish.
- Use jigs, fixtures, and clamps to hold parts in proper position during welding.
- Collaborate with supervisor/engineer to troubleshoot fabrication challenges.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and use PPE while operating machinery and tools.
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of proven work experience in gate/shutter welding or metal fabrication.
- Ability to understand and work from basic mechanical drawings or blueprints.
- Skilled in MIG, TIG, or ARC welding (at least one required).
- Good knowledge of metal cutting, grinding, drilling, and surface finishing.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and precision.
- Physically fit and comfortable working with tools in industrial environments.
- Basic understanding of safety norms in welding/fabrication workshops.
Preferred (Not Mandatory):
- Prior experience in gate manufacturing or working with builders/architects' designs.
- Experience with powder coating prep or surface finish operations.
- ITI certification in welding or fabrication is a plus.
