Job Summary:
We are hiring a Mechanical Shift Incharge to oversee and manage mechanical operations, breakdown maintenance, and preventive maintenance activities of the SID (Steel / DRI) unit during assigned shifts. The role ensures smooth production, machinery uptime, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and monitor the mechanical operations of equipment in the SID unit during the shift.
Ensure continuous production by reducing downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in critical machinery such as kilns, rotary equipment, conveyors, crushers, fans, pumps, compressors, etc.
Maintain shift-wise reports, logs, and breakdown records.
Coordinate with operations, electrical, and instrumentation teams for smooth workflow.
Guide and lead shift maintenance teams to achieve production targets.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Plan and support during plant shutdowns, overhauling, and major repair work.
Monitor spare parts, lubrication schedules, and equipment health.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of rotary equipment, conveyors, crushers, and heavy machinery.
Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ability to lead a team and manage shift operations independently.
Good knowledge of safety norms and statutory compliance.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
