Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Trainee to join our legal team. This role is designed to provide hands-on legal training and practical experience to recent law graduates or early-career professionals who are looking to qualify as solicitors or further their legal career. The Legal Trainee will work closely with senior legal staff across various practice areas and gain exposure to real-world legal proceedings, drafting, research, and client interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with legal research and the preparation of legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
- Attend client meetings, hearings, and negotiations alongside qualified legal staff.
- Conduct due diligence and review documents as part of transactional or litigation matters.
- Support the team with case management, filings, and document organization.
- Draft memos, briefs, and summaries as required by supervising attorneys.
- Stay up to date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards at all times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent); completion of LPC/BPTC or equivalent preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research and analytical abilities.
- Attention to detail and high level of organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and MS Office Suite.
