Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and creative Layout & Typesetting Designer to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for formatting and designing documents, books, journals, and other publications using industry-standard tools. The role involves ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client-specific style guidelines and publishing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform typesetting and layout design for books, journals, magazines, and digital publications.
- Work with tools such as Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, LaTeX, or other typesetting software.
- Apply and maintain consistent styles, templates, and formatting based on client specifications.
- Ensure accurate placement of text, tables, graphics, equations, and images.
- Collaborate with project managers, editors, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Identify and resolve layout or formatting issues, including font, spacing, alignment, and design consistency.
- Prepare files for print or digital output, adhering to output specifications (PDF/X, EPUB, XML, etc.).
- Review and revise layouts based on client feedback or internal QA corrections.
- Maintain version control and proper file management throughout the production cycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in typesetting, layout design, or book production (1–3 years preferred).
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and other layout software (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXPress, LaTeX).
- Familiarity with publishing formats and output standards (Print-ready PDFs, EPUB, XML).
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design, alignment, and typography.
- Ability to follow strict style guides and formatting rules.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹21,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
