Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior System Administrator to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and support end-users to ensure smooth IT operations.
Responsibilities:
Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, desktops, and network equipment.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues promptly.
Support end-users with hardware, software, and network-related problems.
Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
Assist in routine backups and disaster recovery processes.
Ensure security patches and updates are applied regularly.
Collaborate with senior team members on IT projects and deployments.
Follow company policies and procedures for IT asset management.
Manage and support Office 365 email accounts, distribution groups, and user access.
Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Maintain and troubleshoot CCTV systems, including hardware and recording solutions.
Assist in enforcing system security practices, including antivirus, firewall rules, and user permissions.
Work with Linux-based systems at a basic level, including file management, service restarts, and basic command-line operations.
Install and configure operating systems, including Windows, Linux (Ubuntu, AlmaLinux), and macOS, for desktops, laptops, and servers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical knowledge).
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Familiarity with hardware components and troubleshooting.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are a plus.
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is an advantage.
