About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Design and build advanced applications for the crew domain and our new landscape
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Collaborate with product owners/stakeholders/third parties to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Contribute to continuous improvement of our development practices
- Participate in the 24X7 support of high critical applications
- Located in the Netherlands for business and teams’ proximity
- 7+ years of experience with Java web frameworks, experience as senior software engineer or tech lead
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Proven track record of leading technical projects from conception to delivery
- Experience with event driven architecture and container technologies
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure big plus)
- Experience with messaging systems like Kafka or MQ
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Understanding of monitoring and observability tools
- Previous experience collaborating with KLM as a technical/JAVA consultant is big plus due to familiarity with our technical ecosystem
- Azure / Cloud developer experience (not DevOPS level)

- Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements
- Clear and fluent English (both verbal and written)
- Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with remote teams
- Demonstrate ability to take ownership of and accountability for relevant products and services

- Willingness to engage with and work in other technologies
