Job Title: Hardware Lab Technician

Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Hardware Lab Technician to support the hardware engineering lab in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with board-level rework, lab equipment handling, and test environment setup. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a duration of 6 months with the potential for full-time conversion based on performance and business needs.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lab Housekeeping & Maintenance
- Maintain and organize lab tools and equipment (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, soldering irons)
- Manage procurement and inventory of lab consumables (wires, solder, components, etc.)
- Ensure strict ESD compliance across lab areas
- Monitor functionality of lab instruments; coordinate repair and servicing of faulty equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab infrastructure, including proper cable routing
Calibration Management
- Coordinate with external vendors for calibration quotes, reports, and invoices
- Perform physical audits to verify the calibration status of all lab instruments
Testing & Debugging Support
- Set up and configure test environments for hardware validation
- Configure and operate thermal chambers for temperature-based testing
- Program FPGAs, CPLDs, Flash memory, and other programmable components
- Debug common board-level issues such as shorts and component failures
- Support external lab testing processes (e.g., ETDC, Wipro, etc.)
Required Skills & Experience:
Core Skills (in order of priority):
- Advanced board rework skills including high-speed precision work on fine-pitch BGAs and 0201-sized components
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for documentation and tracking
- Familiarity with PCB design/review tools such as Allegro
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Technical Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of ESD safety practices
- Proficient in the use of standard lab instruments such as Digital Multimeters (DMMs), Digital Storage Oscilloscopes (DSOs), etc.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or related technical discipline preferred
- 5 years of hands-on experience in a hardware or electronics lab environment

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
