Role Overview:
As our Freelance Animator, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, immersive horror animations that bring eerie concepts to life. You should have strong creative instincts, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver projects that evoke suspense, fear, and intensity while maintaining visual appeal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and animate horror-themed characters, environments, and effects.
- Develop spine-chilling motion graphics, 2D/3D animations, and visual storytelling sequences.
- Collaborate with writers, directors, and creative leads to conceptualize horror content.
- Use animation software to produce polished and atmospheric visual work.
- Deliver high-quality work within deadlines while maintaining artistic standards.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in animation, horror genre aesthetics, and visual effects.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an animator (portfolio/reel required), preferably in horror, thriller, or dark fantasy genres.
- Proficiency in industry-standard animation tools such as After Effects, Blender, Maya, Cinema4D, or Toon Boom.
- Strong understanding of mood, lighting, pacing, and sound synchronization in horror storytelling.
- Ability to create atmospheric animations with eerie visuals, jump scares, and haunting designs.
- Excellent creativity, attention to detail, and storytelling ability.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fully remote setup.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in VFX, 3D modeling, and texturing.
- Familiarity with horror game or film aesthetics.
- Knowledge of sound design integration for horror impact.
