Job Title: Fabrication Fitter Trainer

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Fitter to train students in metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing sheet metal and structural steel components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on industry experience and a passion for mentoring aspiring fabrication professionals.
Key Responsibilities:1. Training & Instruction:
- Conduct practical and theoretical training on fabrication processes:
- Cutting: Oxy-fuel, plasma, saw cutting
- Shaping: Rolling, bending, punching
- Assembly: Drilling, bolting, riveting, welding basics
- Installation: Structural steel, sheet metal, pipe supports
- Teach interpretation of engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Demonstrate proper use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, levels).
2. Workshop Supervision:
- Oversee fabrication projects (e.g., brackets, frames, ducting).
- Ensure students follow safety protocols (PPE, machine guarding, fire safety).
- Maintain and troubleshoot fabrication equipment (grinders, drills, presses).
3. Curriculum Development:
- Assist in designing NSQF-compliant training modules for fabrication fitting.
- Update course content with industry-relevant techniques (e.g., CNC cutting basics).
4. Assessment & Certification:
- Evaluate student work through practical tests (e.g., fitting tolerance checks).
- Prepare trainees for ITI/NCVT certification exams.
Requirements:
- Education: ITI/Diploma in Fitting/Fabrication/Metalwork or equivalent.
- Experience:
- 3+ years in fabrication fitting (construction, manufacturing, or related fields).
- Prior teaching/training experience (preferred but not mandatory).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in fabrication tools (grinders, drills, presses).
- Basic knowledge of welding (ARC, MIG) and sheet metal work.
- Ability to read IS/ASME standards.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and mentoring abilities.
- Patience to work with diverse learners.
