As a seasoned Oracle Apps DBA, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle E-Business Suite environments. You will play a key role in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of Oracle databases and applications, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Configuration:
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.x) and Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c).
- Set up and manage multi-node RAC environments and ASM storage.
- Maintenance & Support:
- Perform patching (ADOP, CPU/PSU), cloning, backup, and recovery using RMAN.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application and database issues including Concurrent Managers, Workflow, and Forms/Reports.
- Performance & Optimization:
- Conduct performance tuning of databases and applications.
- Implement purging, archiving, and cloning strategies.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery:
- Configure and manage Oracle Data Guard for standby setups and failover operations.
- Ensure 24x7 uptime and participate in on-call support and weekend maintenance.
- Automation & Scripting:
- Develop and maintain Shell, Perl, SQL, and PL/SQL scripts for monitoring and reporting.
- Automate routine DBA tasks and alerts.
- Security & Compliance:
- Enforce database security policies and access controls.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and audit standards.
- Documentation & Collaboration:
- Maintain DBA runbooks, cloning procedures, and upgrade documentation.
- Collaborate with developers, system admins, and business analysts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Oracle EBS R12 architecture, AD utilities (adpatch, adadmin, etc.)
- Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM
- Linux/Unix environments and scripting
- SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning
- Certifications:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent preferred
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities
- Ability to mentor junior DBAs and work in agile environments
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure. etc.) Exposure to OBIEE, APEX and Oracle Fusion Middleware
