Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Primary English Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching English to young learners, with a strong understanding of language development, literacy skills, and fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment. This role is critical in shaping students' language skills and helping them develop a love for reading, writing, and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
· Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:
o Teach English language and literacy skills to primary school students, in alignment with the curriculum.
o Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate diverse teaching methods and cater to various learning styles.
o Teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, ensuring students develop proficiency in all aspects of language.
· Assessment & Feedback:
o Conduct regular assessments to track student progress and identify areas for improvement.
o Provide constructive feedback to students to encourage their growth and development in English.
o Maintain accurate records of students' performance and progress.
· Classroom Management:
o Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
o Manage classroom behaviour effectively and foster a positive atmosphere for learning.
o Support students in developing social and communication skills.
· Collaboration:
o Work closely with other teachers to integrate cross-curricular learning opportunities.
o Collaborate with parents to share student progress and address any concerns.
o Participate in school meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.
· Extracurricular Activities:
o Organize and participate in school activities related to English, such as book clubs, writing competitions, or drama performances.
o Encourage students to explore their creativity and develop a passion for reading and writing outside of the classroom.
Qualifications:
· Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required).
o Teaching certification or license in Primary Education (preferred).
· Experience:
o Previous teaching experience in a primary school setting, particularly in English or language arts (preferred).
o Experience in differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
· Skills & Competencies:
o Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
o Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
o Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment.
o Proficient in using technology to support learning.
o Passionate about fostering a love of language and literature in students.
