Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a Senior MongoDB Developer/Data Modeler to provide expert advisory support for a client transitioning their application backend to MongoDB. This role is ideal for someone passionate about architecting scalable data solutions, evaluating database fit, and guiding hybrid architectures in complex domains like manufacturing/supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess whether MongoDB is the right fit for the client’s specific use case, including performance, scalability, and cost trade-offs.
- Design optimal data models and architecture strategies for MongoDB, with a focus on complex hierarchies (e.g., Bill of Materials/BOM data).
- Advise on hybrid solutions (e.g., MongoDB + Snowflake) and integration approaches with relational databases.
- Challenge and validate existing architectural decisions to ensure alignment with best practices.
- Provide clear recommendations on NoSQL vs. RDBMS trade-offs, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
- Collaborate remotely with client teams in a consulting/advisory capacity, requiring strong communication and documentation skills.
