We are looking for a passionate and experienced Dance Teacher to join our CBSE school in Mohali. The ideal candidate should be skilled in a variety of dance forms, able to choreograph performances for school events, and dedicated to nurturing students’ creativity, discipline, and confidence through dance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging dance classes for students across various age groups (primary to senior secondary).
- Teach a range of dance styles (classical, contemporary, folk, Bollywood, freestyle, etc.).
- Prepare students for performances in annual functions, inter-school competitions, assemblies, and cultural events.
- Choreograph group and solo dance performances suitable for different age groups.
- Identify and nurture talent for inter-school and district-level competitions.
- Work collaboratively with music, drama, and art departments for integrated cultural programs.
- Maintain discipline and ensure student safety during dance sessions.
- Keep records of student progress and participation.
- Organize and assist in rehearsals, costume planning, and stage management during school events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Performing Arts / Dance / Fine Arts or equivalent certification from a recognized institution.
- Prior experience teaching dance in a school or institution (CBSE school experience preferred).
- Proficiency in multiple dance styles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and able to engage students of all age groups.
- Ability to manage groups and maintain classroom discipline.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in choreography for large group performances.
- Ability to work with school band/music teachers.
- Familiarity with CBSE co-scholastic activity guidelines.
- Ability to coordinate dance competitions and cultural activities.
