The successful candidate will work directly with our global Turbo Compressor Products Engineering staff across our various manufacturing sites. The Designer is responsible for accurately laying out a cross-section of a compressor, creating detailed prints for manufacturing, and developing bills of material. We are looking for an individual ready to become a well-rounded team member, who is a key player and contact for a wide spectrum of internal and external customers and suppliers, does this sound like you?
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Produce accurate 3D layouts and solid models of turbo compressors following the project scope and within a specified time frame.
- Creates engineering prints and bills of materials for manufacturing.
- Creates solid model assemblies in NX to ensure form, fit, and function logic is met, and provides assembly to mating parts are correct.
- Supports product design and development, part detailing and checking, fabrication, and manufacturing, and is an integral part of overall client satisfaction.
- When required, the drafter will need to incorporate new designs and standards into existing compressor designs and stay within footprint limitations
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
- Publication assistance of Design Checklists or Execution Checklists.
- Perform maintenance and updates on components and documents. Implementation / Execution of Cost-Out into “production ready” status.
What You Bring
- BE/BTech in mechanical engineering with 4-5 years of proven experience or Diploma in mechanical engineering with 8-10 years proven experience
- Experience in solid modeling and drafting using CAD, preferably NX (Uni graphics)
- Proficiency with NX, Teamcenter, and ERP system SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal for the English language & Ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience in Turbo compression including knowledge of industry standards (API, ASME, etc.) & general knowledge in manufacturing
