Job Summary:
The CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality furniture parts, ensuring that all products meet the company’s specifications and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and a strong understanding of machine operations and programming basics. The CNC Operator will work closely with the production team to meet daily production goals, follow safety standards, and maintain equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation
- Set up and operate CNC machines (routers, lathes, mills) used in the production of furniture parts.
- Input and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, feed rate, depth of cut) to achieve required dimensions and surface finishes.
- Load raw materials and execute pre-programmed machine instructions.
- Quality Control
- Inspect completed parts for accuracy using callipers, micrometres, and other measuring instruments.
- Perform quality checks on work to ensure products meet company specifications and customer expectations.
- Troubleshoot any machining issues and adjust settings as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Maintenance and Safety
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, such as cleaning and minor repairs.
- Report major machine malfunctions or maintenance needs to the maintenance department.
- Follow all safety protocols and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Collaboration and Documentation
- Work closely with engineers and production supervisors to understand project requirements and production timelines.
- Document production output, material usage, and any equipment issues for reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
· Diploma/Engineering – Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in CNC operations preferred.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming basics and ability to make minor adjustments to code as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing for long periods, bending, and reaching during machine operation.
