Position Summary:
The Assistant Professor in General Medicine will be responsible for teaching undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate students, participating in patient care, conducting clinical research, and contributing to academic and administrative activities of the department. The role requires a strong clinical background, passion for teaching, and commitment to evidence-based medicine.
Key Responsibilities:Teaching:
- Conduct theory classes, clinical postings, bedside teaching, and tutorials for MBBS and/or MD students.
- Design and evaluate internal assessments and university exam preparation.
- Assist in curriculum development and implementation as per NMC/MCI/University guidelines.
- Guide students in clinical case presentations and seminars.
Clinical Duties:
- Provide patient care in general medicine wards, OPDs, and emergency services.
- Supervise medical interns and residents in clinical settings.
- Participate in medical rounds, case discussions, and diagnostic decision-making.
Research & Publications:
- Engage in clinical or academic research projects.
- Publish research in indexed medical journals.
- Participate in CME programs, workshops, and conferences.
Administrative Duties:
- Participate in department meetings, academic committees, and quality assurance processes.
- Support the organization of departmental events, CME, workshops, and outreach activities.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualifications:
- MBBS from a recognized institution.
- MD (General Medicine) or equivalent from an MCI/NMC-recognized medical college/university.
- Experience:
- As per National Medical Commission (NMC) / MCI norms – typically a minimum of 1 year of senior residency post-MD.
- Registration:
- Valid registration with State Medical Council or Medical Council of India/NMC.
