Assistant Manager – Inventory Planning & Operations (Luxury Apparel)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to oversee inventory planning & operations for our luxury apparel brand. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of high-end fashion logistics and product lifecycles, ensuring that inventory levels align with brand standards, seasonal cycles, and customer expectations. This role will ensure stock accuracy, minimize stock discrepancies, plan for facility and storage capacities and maintain the integrity of premium merchandise across all retail & e-commerce channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee inventory control processes for luxury fashion collections across warehouse facilities and online platforms.
- Collaborate with buying, merchandising, and retail operations teams to align inventory levels with seasonal trends, launches, and promotions.
- Maintain meticulous records and ensure inventory accuracy for high-value, limited-edition, and seasonal items.
- Perform regular stock reconciliations, cycle counts, and audits, resolving discrepancies swiftly.
- Use ERP and inventory software to manage inventory data and generate reporting for decision-making.
- Implement best practices for the handling, storage, and transfer of luxury goods to preserve brand integrity.
- Monitor aging inventory and make recommendations for markdowns, transfers, or promotional movement.
- Coordinate inbound shipments and returns with logistics partners, ensuring timely and damage-free delivery, ensure all the best practices are followed during the returns handling quality check processes.
- Support product allocation and replenishment strategies for planning styles strategically stocked in warehouse inventory.
- Train and supervise inventory team members to uphold accuracy and luxury quality checking standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management,
- 3–5 years of inventory or logistics planning management experience in fashion or luxury retail.
- Strong knowledge of apparel assortments, SKU tracking, and inventory best practices.
- Familiarity with ERP/inventory systems used in luxury retail and how replenishment cycles work in tandem with OTB
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, fashion-driven environment with high SKU complexity.
- Keen eye for detail and a commitment to preserving the quality and presentation of high-value items.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience managing inventory planning or operations for an apparel or an established retail brand
- Understanding of luxury retail cycles, sale events, in-season purchases, and trunk shows.
- Knowledge of international shipping, customs, and import/export regulations for fashion goods is a good to have.
- Proficiency in data visualization/reporting tools (Advanced Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
